WINTER STORM WATCH FOR THE WEB CAM SITE!
Heavy snow expected with over 50 feet by Thursday and 100 mph winds. Not really but the other media outlets will make you think that.
Our web cam is one of the few in the world that broadcast at 30 frames per second (depending on your connection) and in full stereo sound (32 bits). Watch our animal feeder setup show every night at 6:30 pm, eastern!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
So here's how it went last Saturday when we were going to do our last anniversary show and we had several animals show up early. Well, maybe THIS week - that would be 1-23-10. We'll see; you'll just have to tune in and see.
The weather is getting better - for the middle of winter. Later this week, we're expecting highs of over 40 degrees but mixed with rain at times. This means that there will be more night time animal activity at the feeder.
Rainy weather might not seem like the best time for animals but in many ways it is. Rain deadens sounds so the animals won't hear as much traffic, people talking and other man made sounds. This will make them less wary of approaching the feeder (even after a year some are still pretty wary). The warmer weather gets them up and foraging for food. So we expect more animals at the feeder.
No, I'm not doing an imitation of a 1920's mobster making a hit - I'm talking about our heated man made watering hole. Oddly enough, using a 10 watt heat source is enough to keep the water thawed all the way down to 10 degrees.
As you can see in the site news area that shows the feed from camera number 2, the temperature of the water stays well above freezing at all times.
Watch the latest Bill Xam half baked do it yourself project! Part 1Part 2
I appreciate that our director cat went on Larry King - I wouldn't have the guts to get within 3 feet of that clown. But then King starts in with his stammering questions and the next thing you know, I Bill Xam, am the bad guy. First he gets crashes the White House party with some stupid couple and now this. Wait till that cat gets home, he's gonna get it.
